(9/30/2005) - The generosity of the Church on the Cape has served
over the years those in dire need. We as a congregation have
responded generously by giving more than $10,500 for Hurricane Katrina
relief through UMCOR (The United Methodist Committee on Relief).
Our
9/11 Remembrance Service was an overwhelming experience for those in
attendance. Present were our public safety volunteers and professionals
from KEMS, the Kennebunkport Fire and Police Departments and the
remarkable presence of "The Singing Trooper" Sgt. Dan Clark.
Sgt. Clark has agreed that we may use his singing as part of a
special church CD to raise funds for Katrina relief. Available this
Sunday will be a CD containing:
* The National Anthem
* "Amazing Grace"
* "How Great Thou Art" Sample

* "Danny Boy"
* "Proud to Be an American"
There were also messages and prayers from Chief Sue Stedman of KEMS,
Goose Rocks Fire Chief Dave Chisholm, Kennebunkport Police Chief Joe Bruni and Pastor Ruth's pointed sermon on serving those in need by
"going against the grain."
