Organ Concert

Guest Organist: Albert Melton

(December 10, 2006) The Church on the Cape welcomed Albert Melton of St. Luke's Cathedral in Portland to our Prelude Organ Concert.

Mr. Melton is Cathedral Musician at St. Luke's.  There he conducts the Cathedral Choir, and the Cathedral Youth Choir.  He is organist for the Cathedral parish where, in addition to providing music for the weekly services, he is often in charge of music for Diocesan services which include consecrations, ordinations, and other special services.  In addition to his work at St. Luke’s, Mr. Melton is active as a recitalist having performed in many American cities and in Barbados.

A native of Newport News, Virginia, Albert Melton holds degrees from Westminster Choir College and Northwestern University.  He is a member of the Association of Anglican Musicians, the American Choral Directors Association, and the Portland Chapter of the American Guild of Organists.  Recently he was appointed a member of the board of directors of the Friends of the Kotschmar Organ
