Organ Concert

Spring Concert Reflects the Lenten and Easter Seasons
Guest Organist: David Maxwell

(April 6, 2003) When excellent performers and fine instruments come together, the results can be stunning - and so they were as David Maxwell performed on our Rodgers pipe organ and Danielle Fairfield joined in the Second Movement of the Mozart Clarinet Concerto.

Mr. Maxwell, currently Minister of Music at State Street Church, UCC, in Portland, presented a variety of sacred and classic music that captured the spirit of our times - both religious reflection and national pride.

David also played one of his own compositions, "Trumpets and Flourishes," and his arrangements of two grand hymns, "Wondrous Love" and "Amazing Grace." His works for organ are published by Warner Brothers Publications.

This was the fifth in our series of organ concerts. It was the vision of Keith McClelland, our former organist and choir director, that our church become a center for excellence in musical performance. Thus, we have established the Keith McClelland Memorial Concert Fund. These concerts are supported through generous individual gifts of attendees.
