From the gracious and giving caretaker, Adrien Baracco:
Did you know that the tower clock rings the bell every hour, on the hour, 24 hours a day? That’s 154 bell strikes per day or 56,940 every year. As caretaker of the tower clock I stop by the Church several days a week and check the time on the tower clock and make adjustments as necessary. That includes manually setting the clock for Daylight Savings Time.
Changes in temperature can change the length of the pendulum and the timing of the swing resulting in gains of time in the winter and a loss of time in the summer. Many thanks to my predecessors Scott Dombrowski and Terry Moulton for their years serving as caretaker of the COTC Tower Clock.
Thank you Adrien. Your loving work for our clock tower is overlooked and under appreciated. Thank you for your care.
